HISTORIC ROUTE 66
      This highway was used as an alternate route while U S Route 66 was being constructed. It meanders north and south through the central corridor of Macoupin County, Illinois similar to today's Illinois Route 4.
      The main U S Route 66 traversed the southeast portion of Macoupin County.

BENLD- "Out of the Past"
The former buildings occupied by Bertetti Electric and Corkin Jewelry, located at the corner of Main Street and Central Avenue. They were razed in August 1993, to make room for new construction.

The former C N & W Railroad Depot.
The location was on the north side of Central Avenue to the west side of the railroad tracks.
This is the present location of the park where the Military Tank is situated.
