1900 15 - Improvements - The Marquette Coal Co., Sparland, Marshall county, has erected a new 10-foot fan and put in an engine, which takes the place of an inferior one in use heretofore. This change makes the ventilation of this mine all that could be desired. The old ladders in the escapement shaft have also been removed, and a very substantial stairway put in.
